Barbara Bray, MIFST, MSc is a Registered UKRVN Nutritionist with the AfN.
She is the Director of a technical services and nutrition consultancy, Alo Solutions Ltd, providing food safety advice, nutritional specification writing, technical development and training for fresh produce and food manufacturing clients.
Barbara spent three years in the Ugandan agri-business sector followed by fourteen years in the UK chilled foods sector in food procurement, technical advice and management with Bakkavor, an international food manufacturer. She set up her consultancy business in 2014.
She organised the first all student Nutrition Society Conference at the University of Chester, 2016 and joined the committee of SENSE, an organisation which provides professional development, learning opportunities and support for self-employed nutritionists. As the programme lead she now plans and chairs the meetings for SENSE which have included the topics of gut health, nutrition and health claims and nutritional genomics.
In 2018, she became a registered Food Safety Manager and mentor with the Institute for Food Science and Technology.
A fan of good food, nutrition and lifelong learning she enjoys yoga, open water swimming, public speaking and lots of travel.
